FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Curious Minds (CM Pod), a New Science, Technology and History Podcast Program Opens with a Three Part Series on Stuxnet and Cyber Security for Industrial Control and Critical Networks

Among the first guests was Waterfall Security Solutions VP and cyber security expert Andrew Ginter

Ashburn, VA – February 7, 2016 – Waterfall Security Solutions Ltd. today announced that CM Pod, a new podcast channel focusing on science, technology and history subjects, opened with a guest from Waterfall Security Solutions to discuss Stuxnet and other potential threats on critical infrastructure. When it was discovered in 2010, Stuxnet was the most complicated and sophisticated malware ever known. It highlighted the increasingly deliberate cyber attacks on targets that hold consequences much more dangerous than the loss of data.

Andrew Ginter, Waterfall’s VP of Industrial Security, was invited as the first guest on the program due to his long experience identifying and offering solutions to the potential threats on industrial control systems, as well as his participation in the influential paper “How Stuxnet Spreads”. After his review of the last few years as threats and malicious malware have become more prominent, Mr. Ginter expanded on the development of a unidirectional gateway for improved security of the IT/OT connection in an industrial control system.

Since 2005 there is a new class of attacks – malicious software with human guidance or viruses with a directed target like a guided missile to a specific system or organization,” said Ginter. “Even prior to the discovery of these attacks, Waterfall Security offers a different type of solution – not an IT approach – but one based on hardware that physically blocks the connection of the industrial control network to the Internet connection so attacks do not get in.”

Fortunately, we provide visibility into the network for operators of ICS and SCADA networks to obtain and share information, thereby maintaining operational and business processes,” added Ginter.

The Curious Mind or CM Pod is hosted by Ran Levi, an author and the founder of a Hebrew language podcast in 2007 called ‘Making History’. Making History became the most successful podcast in Israel, with millions of downloads. All episodes are available for download free of charge.
